During numerous years, Ukraine was a restricted territory. The “Iron Curtain” completely hid its countries from the views from the West. Literally, no information exchange or sharing was possible. It is only in 1980th that the old Soviet Union started to open up allowing Europeans for a glimpse of those Slavic gems. Once the “Granary of Europe”, today Ukraine is a big noble country that rejects the old Soviet atavism and peacefully advances towards the Freedom and Democracy.

We would like to help the Ryast ‘school to publish a book “Pyssanka”, describing all these natural processes of realization as our ancestors did. For now, this practice is not well known and is not widespread.

Easter is one the most important Ukrainian holidays. It is a celebration of Faith, Hope, Love and Life, which Ukraine and everyone of us are in so much need for now!
That is why on 11 April 2015 right before this great feast, the Association “Free Ukraine” holds a charity “Ukrainian Easter” which will be organised at the one of the charming places of St-Cergue.
Featuring: traditional Ukrainian dishes (borsch, varenyky, deruny, syrnyky, etc.), Ukrainian traditional Easter games and entertainments, and, obviously, Easter and pysankas (Ukrainian Easter eggs)!
Come to us and bring your Swiss friends along! The generous Ukrainian culture will leave none unmoved!
All funds raised will be transferred to families of victims and children victimized in Ukraine.
